THINK YOU UNDERSTAND THE BIBLE MESSAGE?
Many people think they understand the Bible message. Yet a simple survey of our brothers and sisters in our local congregation reveal an uncomfortable reality - there are such a diverse range of views on every Bible topic.
Indeed, there are many different 'types' of Christians! Yet we know that they can't all be right, right? The Word of God tells us that there is only one Gospel and we are instructed to watch our lives and our doctrines carefully (1 Tim 4:16).
The issue arises because few Christians bother to spend time reading God's Word for themselves. Instead they over-rely on other people such as pastors, authors, friends, Bible-study class, magazines, and just about any source they come across on the internet. Christians need to spend time with God and they can do this by reading His Word. They need to cultivate this essential habit in order to develop sufficient breath and depth of scriptural knowledge.
